The First Week of Forthright!

By | April 30, 2016

This Tuesday marked the publication of the Forthright Open Roleplay Early Access rulebook on DriveThruRPG. It’s been a great week for Forthright!  Let’s take a look at what we’ve got so far:

  • 288 unique downloads of the free ruleset
  • 6 members in the Forthright Open Roleplay Google+ Community (we want more!)
  • Some feedback from Kyrinn S. Eis, Keith Slawson and Reddit user Quadratic that’ll be changing some of our presentation of the rules (enjoy those discount coupons, guys, they’ll be coming once we publish the final product)
  • Our first official review! On DTRPG, user Michael J. gave the rules a three-star review and had this to say: “Sorry, but your book is just drowning in political correctness. Never stereotype, can’t have any differences between male and female, must agree on everything and do everything togeather [sic], talk evil brutes trying to kill you into submission, etc., etc. Really detracts from the rules when you preach political correctness on nearly every page.”

Now, thanks to some kind of monster plague trying to kill every member of Room 209 Gaming (fever, chills, cough, fatigue) this week, I don’t have a lot more to say. But! We want to hear from you, our readers.

  • What do you like about Forthright?
  • What don’t you like about Forthright?
  • What could be explained better, or what do you have concerns about?
  • Did we go overboard when writing about respectfully collaborating with the rest of your gaming group?

Let us know in the comments below, or drop us a line at And if you haven’t downloaded or looked at the Early Access rules yet. . .what are you waiting for?
